Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Retriever Score is an online presence monitoring service for local businesses, operated by iGlacier, LLC ("iGlacier," "Retriever Score," "we," "us," or "our"), a company based in the United States. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website, sign up for an account, or use the Retriever Score service (together, the "Service").
The Service is offered to businesses in the United States. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, your business website URL (or Facebook page URL), and your business headquarters zip code. We also store your account credentials and your account settings, such as notification preferences.
Billing information
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. We receive limited billing details from Stripe, such as the card brand, the last four digits, and your subscription and payment status, so we can manage your account.
Usage data
Like most online services, we automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service: IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you visit, the features you use, and timestamps. We use this data to keep the Service secure and to understand how it is used.
Publicly available business data we monitor for you
The core of the Service is monitoring publicly available information about how your business shows up online: search results, map pack listings, Google reviews, business profile details, website availability and health signals, and backlinks. This data comes from public sources. It may also include public information about other businesses, such as competitors in your area, which we collect solely to provide benchmarking within the Service. We never access non-public systems, accounts, or websites to collect this data.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including calculating your scores and reports
- Send you the emails the Service is built around: weekly digests, alerts, account notices, and billing receipts
- Process subscriptions and payments through Stripe
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Monitor, debug, and improve the Service
- Protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or any other form of ad targeting.
4. Service providers
We share information with a small number of service providers who help us run the Service. They may only use your information to provide services to us, and each is bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
- Stripe - payment processing and subscription billing
- Postmark - transactional email delivery (digests, alerts, receipts, account messages)
- Hosting and infrastructure providers - the cloud platforms that run our application and store our databases
- Data providers - services that supply publicly available search and listing data used to build your scores
We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our customers, the public, or iGlacier, LLC.
5. Cookies and tracking
We keep tracking to a minimum. The Service uses:
- Essential cookies - required for signing in, keeping your session active, and protecting against security threats. The Service does not work without them.
- First-party analytics - our own measurement of how the website and Service are used (pages viewed, features used), so we can improve them. This data stays with us.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, ad networks, or cross-site trackers. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws, so there is no sale or sharing for you to opt out of. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information and the monitoring history that powers your scores for as long as your account is active, since historical trends are a core part of the Service. After you cancel, we retain account data for a limited period in case you return, then delete or de-identify it in the ordinary course of business.
You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Your privacy rights). We may retain certain records, such as billing and tax records, for longer where the law requires it. Usage logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging, then deleted or aggregated.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit who can reach customer data, and hosting with providers that maintain strong physical and network security. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified processor.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Your privacy rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make any request, reach out through our contact page and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify your request using the email address on your account and respond within the time required by applicable law.
California residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Non-discrimination - we will never penalize you for exercising your privacy rights
We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out is needed. You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf; we will ask the agent for proof of authorization.
Residents of other states
Several other U.S. states have comprehensive privacy laws that provide similar rights of access, correction, and deletion, and the right to appeal a refused request. We extend the access, correction, and deletion rights described above to all customers, whichever state you live in. If we decline a request and your state's law gives you a right of appeal, you may appeal by replying through the contact page, and we will review the decision.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is built for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, let us know through our contact page and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will notify you by email or with a notice in the Service before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
11. How to contact us
Please direct all privacy questions, requests, and complaints to us through our contact page. It is the fastest way to reach the people who can act on your request, and we respond to every message.
